What is a press cylinder?

The press cylinder – also known as the press chamber, strainer basket or oil press cylinder – encloses the material being pressed during the process. In combination with the press spindle, press head and the nozzle, high mechanical pressure builds up inside, which presses the oil out of the seeds or nuts. The cylinder must withstand extreme loads whilst ensuring efficient heat dissipation in order to maintain the quality of cold-pressed oils.
