What is a press spindle used for?

The press spindle – also known as press screw – is a mechanical drive component that controls the build-up of pressure in the oil press. The speed of the screw conveys the material to be pressed against the press head, thereby squeezing it. This generates the necessary pressure to extract oil from seeds such as sunflower seeds, rapeseed, linseed, hemp or walnuts.

The more precisely the spindle is machined, the more uniform the pressing process – and the higher the oil yield while maintaining consistently high oil quality.
